There are artists.
There are entertainers.
There are influencers.
Unless you are a prodigy, achieving success in one would be considered a triumph, let alone all three. Josef Gordon is that prodigy whose lyrics, pulse, and intellect unites a club in Ibiza, a waitress in Iowa, and a salaryman in Tokyo.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, Josef's strong relationship with his family has served as an anchor while navigating through the right of passage that is required for anyone that will someday thank the Academy, MTV, and the Grammys. Josef began writing music at age five, including two songs with Jimmy Needham, where one song reached number two on the Christian charts for three months.
After spending a smashing year studying abroad in London, Josef knew the time was ripe for Hollywood. In late 2008, Josef began collaborating with guitarist Kellen Mills and producer extraordinaire Robb "Rapture" Hutzal. Together, they formed a songwriting and production entity named "The RedElect." In just one year, Josef and Kellen, penned and recorded twenty-five records with Rapture's guidance in various genres including pop, rock, and R&B. The fruit of their labor paid off when three of their songs were purchased by one of America's forefront sound libraries, Firstcom/Universal.
Today, Josef continues to blend stories throughout his life into original R&B compositions that are flavored with mystery, substance, and authenticity with a side of relatable pop melodies. In addition to The RedElect, Josef and his band, The Colour Elect, have performed at some of Hollywood's most legendary venues including The Mint, The Roxy (On the Rox), Molly Malones, and House of Blues.
To say this is just the beginning of Josef Gordon is an understatement, this, my friends is the beginning of the next entertainment superstar.
